With a conclusive knockout, Steve Suppan won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Welterweight title on Saturday, May 21, at Het Sporthuis in Abcoude, Netherlands.

In the main event of a show labeled “The Evolution of Boxing 8”, Suppan defeated Georgia´s Bato Berkatsashvili with a massive body-shot already in the second round.

Referee Eric van den Heuvel counted to eight, and then waved the fight off as it was clear that Berkatsashvili would not recover to continue. Time of stoppage was 2:38.

Suppan (28), who won the Dutch national title at Light Welterweight in 2019, improved his professional ledger to 13-1-1 (6).
