												In September 2014 Filipino
												prospect John Vincent Moralde
												won the World Boxing Federation
												(WBF) International title at
												Super Bantamweight, and on
Saturday February 13 he became a
												two-weight titlist when he
												captured the vacant WBF
												International Featherweight
												crown.

At the Gaisano Mall in General
												Santos City, Philippines,
												Moralde had some early problems
												with co-challenger Anthony
Sabalde, who came out strong and
												aggressive, but eventually the
												21-year-old from Davao City
found a way to handle the
												awkward southpaw style of
												Sabalde.

From the fourth round on Moralde
worked well with his jab and
												straight right hand, and at
												times it appeared that he
												couldn’t miss with a one-two
												combination. The right eye of
Sabalde was proof of this, as a
												swelling prompted the ringside
												doctor to inspect the injury
												after round eight, but he
												allowed the fight to continue.

The bout went the full ten
rounds, but there was no doubt
that Moralde was a clear winner.
Judges Mario De Ramos, Romy R.
												Fordaliza and Jaime Mata all
scored it 98-92 for Moralde, who
												remained undefeated at 15-0 (7).
												Anthony Sabalde drops to 10-5
												(5).

												The Moralde vs. Sabalde WBF
												International Featherweight
title fight was the main event
of a show billed as “Brawl At
												The Mall: Glory”, promoted by
												Sanman Promotions. A full
												undercard, including two
												Philippines national title
fights, made it a great night of
												boxing for the local fans.
