												The vacant World Boxing
												Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific
												Lightweight Championship will be
												up for grabs when Filipino
												rivals Nelson Tinampay and Jonel
												Gadapan fights on Sunday January
												31 in Iligan City, Philippines.

												From Dogohoy in the Bohol
												province, Nelson Tinampay has
been a pro since 2012 and enters
												the fight with a 9-1-1 (4)
record. He is coming off his
												most significant victory,
												defeating veteran Richard Betos
												by technical decision last July.

												Jonel Gadapan hails from Gingoog
City, and made his paid debut in
												2010. Having fought the better
												level of opposition than his
												opponent, the tough 28-year-old
												brings a 10-8-2 (6) ledger to
												the party.

												While it is Tinampay´s first
												title fight, Gadapan has
												previously fought for various
												regional belts on four
occasions. So far he has come up
short, so he will be full of
												motivation to finally win a
												championship.

It shapes up to be an
												action-packed fight between a
												young and hungry prospect taking
												on a rugged and experienced
												veteran, and both warriors are
looking to make a statement to
												further their respective career.

												The Tinampay vs. Gadapan WBF
												Asia Pacific Lightweight title
fight is the main event of a
												show promoted by
RCJ Promotions, and will be preceded
												by a full undercard of
												well-matched local encounters.
