Mexican contender Karol Mazariegos, 10-4-1 (4), has not been successful in three previous championship opportunities.

Having lost in challenges for WBO Latino, WBO International and UBO world titles, she now gets a fourth opportunity to win a belt.

On February 28 in Morelos, she will take on compatriot Sanjuana Vasquez, 6-8-1 (0), for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental Super Flyweight crown.

24-year-old Mazariegos is coming off two victories since losing a decision for the vacant UBO world Flyweight title last June.

Vasquez (26) is undefeated in her last four bouts, going 3-0-1 since August of 2023, and will go into her first title fight with momentum.

The fight is part of a show promoted by Ivan Santos Rivas.
