World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Middleweight champion Claressa Shields is set to defend her title against former foe Hanna Gabriels on June 3 at Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit, USA. The fight will be broadcast live by DAZN.

Costa Rica´s Gabriels, 21-2-1 (12), is the only opponent to knock Shields down, as she floored the American in the first round of their original encounter back in 2018.

Shields, widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound, went on to win a unanimous decision, but has made it clear she is going for a knockout in the second go-around.

Gabriels, a former WBA and WBO world champion at Super Welterweight, went on to win the WBA world Light Heavyweight and WBC world Heavyweight titles in the same fight, when she stopped Mexican Martha Gaytan in two rounds in April of 2021.

Shields, 13-0 (2), won the WBF title in February of 2022 when outpointing then champion Ema Kozin in Cardiff, Wales.

In October of last year she settled the score with Savannah Marshall, the only boxer to hold a victory over Shields, having defeated her in the amateurs in 2012.

Shields vs. Gabriels, the rematch, for the WBF womens world Middleweight title will be promoted by Salita Promotions.
